Salamaleque e.V. accomplishes dance and art projects for street children and youth at risk in post-conflict and developing countries, as well as for refugees. Salamaleque e.V. uses dance and trauma therapies to improve their self-confidence and their potential. Currently, we are most actively abroad in Sierra Leone.
The disparity between our daily realities is unbelievably deep. In Sierra Leone, we strive to provide any type of assistance necessary to the rural communities – we provide medical, organisational, humanitarian and therapeutical aid. We distribute home-cooked meals to school-aged children in need. We dress wounds, we care for the sick and we help to raise funds to get people to hospitals.

Healing ailing souls through dance..
Dance therapy is a powerful tool to overcome past trauma, both recent and deeply hidden. Heidi Rehse is a licensed dance therapist educated in Brasil and Germany. Apart from her work in Sierra Leone and Brasil, she also heads many dance projects in Stuttgart with refugees and locals alike.
